Nick Tyson

> NICK TYSON

Nick Tyson is a non-fiction producer and filmmaker based between Paris and New York City.

As a story producer, he has worked on multiple seasons of true crime series for major networks. Across his producing roles, he has delivered over 100 hours of broadcast documentary, specializing in archival research, legal clearance, and post-production workflows.

His independent filmmaking practice explores queer embodiment and sensorial experience across physical and digital landscapes. His work has screened at International Film Festival Rotterdam, IndieLisboa, International Short Film Festival Oberhausen, BFI Flare, and É Tudo Verdade, as well as at Anthology Film Archives and La Clef Cinéma.

He holds an MA in Documentary Cinema and Visual Anthropology from Université Paris-Nanterre and a BA in Film and Anthropology from Columbia University, with additional training from Prague Film School, and Yale University. He was part of the UnionDocs Collaborative Studio artist residency from 2019 through 2020, and is currently mastering hand-processing 16mm film at L'Etna, a community analog film lab, in Montreuil, France.
